New academic network

Janet, the UK’s academic network is to relaunch with even greater bandwidth. This new network will be called SuperJanet5 and will enable the academic community to transfer much larger files with the network increasing from 10Gbit/s to 200Gbit/s.

The relaunch is to cost £29 million with (Ukerna) or the UK Education and Research Networking Association to manage the new network as they did with the original Janet.
